At the time of the founding, the first Iemoto(Grand Master) of the Miyanagi School selected 6 excerpts from the ‘Rikyu Douka’ as the principals of training, which been cherished ever since.

◆Principals of Training

・To have the mind to enter this path is, indeed, to have an inherent teacher.
・Practice constitutes learning from one, becoming cognizant of ten, then returning from ten to one, the beginning.
・In the learning process, watch and learn; voicing opinions without having done this is foolishness.
・One should abandon feelings of embarrassment and ask people questions; this is the keystone to becoming adept.
・’Namaru’ means to do the steps with uneven rhythm, fast here and slow there.
・To become adept at something requires liking it, agility, and the accumulation of training. It is the person with all these three who will certainly realize mastery.
